What People See and What May Be Hidden – ADHD Activity
Children with ADHD may show behaviors that others can easily see, such as fidgeting, talking a lot, or getting distracted. But there are also feelings and struggles that people may not notice, such as worry, frustration, or feeling overwhelmed.
This fun, printable activity helps children understand the difference between what others see on the outside and what they may be feeling on the inside.
How to Use This Activity
- Download and print the two-page PDF. (Download PDF – Ice Cube ADHD Activity)
- Have your child cut out the ice cubes on page two.
- Place the ice cubes above the waterline for things people can see.
- Place the ice cubes below the waterline for feelings or struggles that may be hidden.
- Use the blank ice cubes to add your child’s own ideas.
You can glue the ice cubes in place or simply move them around while talking about each one.
Remember: Just because we can’t see what someone is feeling doesn’t mean those feelings aren’t important. This activity encourages understanding, kindness, and open conversations.
